Westward Ho!

This is being posted while I'm in the air heading towards Houston, where I'll connect to Tucson, where I'll get a car and drive to Sierra Vista.  I'll get in to Tucson around 10, and I should get to SV by noon.  I'm thinking of taking a little time to check out the Tucson mall, which is about a dozen miles north of the airport, before I go.  I can get an early lunch (early for Tucson.  It'll be 1, eastern tummy time, when I land) and check out the shops before getting on the road.

In a comment a couple of days ago, one of my friends asked why I plan so much.  For, say, my Richmond trip or my Meg-at-the-rally day not so much planning was necessary.  But if I get to my destination without a wig or my pads or my contacts, well, that's game over.  She did have a good point though: I should have a list of "must haves:" things like the above items.  I can always buy cosmetics or clothes.  Even if I forget a razor, I can get another.  But breast pads are tough (and expensive!) to replace.  And I'd rather not get another wig (although I may go wig shopping anyway, just for fun).

And I almost made an error this time.  I'm dressed for work while in the air, since I'm going straight to the office.  Normally, for SV, that means a polo or similar shirt and jeans.  But you may recall I'm going to be removing my body hair over the next few days.  That means I'd show up Monday with hairy arms and Tuesday without.  Will anyone notice?  No.  At work, no-one even noticed my haircut, or my eyebrows.  But I don't want to answer questions, on the slim, outside chance someone does notice.  So I'm wearing my new denim-ish shirt today.  With a spaghetti-strap cami underneath.  The material isn't very heavy, but it's heavy enough to make the straps and details disappear.  I think.  Oh... this particular shirt looks like it could be a man's shirt, except some of the thread is pink.  No idea why they did that, but it's the sort of thing that I would have considered a show-stopper a couple of years ago.  On my journey to "I don't care," it's OK.

Travel Day

I'll be home alone once the kids head off to school.

My plan:

Pack.

Make sure all of Meg's stuff is packed gently and snugly.  Make sure I have enough clothes for my workdays.

All of the pants and two of the shirts I packed are women's.  My only non-Meg shoes are from the women's department.  All of my undies and socks, well, that's all I own.  I did bring mostly solid or OK-for-male patterned socks.  I will be working with military sorts after all.

My travel wardrobe is a tee, one of my new girls jeans, girl socks and undies of course and my usual necklace and charm bracelet.  I am adding One More clearly girl item: Meg's watch.

As I mentioned, my plan for girl shoes for the flight will not pan out.  I also looked at a pair of black loafers with a 1-3/4" heel (I measured).  BUT ~ they'd probably bother my little toes, and I think I'd be uncomfortable, physically with the fit and psychologically with the style.  I'll do the watch.  One thing at a time.  If a stranger comments on the watch and I say "my battery died so I borrowed my wife's" is that a story?

Oh....  I also almost made an error.  Normally, I have A Meg Outfit.  That includes a bra and a cinch and a couple of pair of hose in case one runs.  This trip, I will need to pack a second bra and cinch.  I don't think each will stand up to more than one day's wear.  And I can't guarantee it will be dry the next day after being hand-washed in the evening.

I may need a larger suitcase.

Short Notes

Just a couple of notes....

Yesterday, Diane posted a comment saying she'll be at the FemmeFever ball on Long Island (where I used to live) Friday and Saturday.  I'd like to invite Diane to drop me a note ~ if she'd like to write about her experience for the blog, or share some photos here, I'd be happy to oblige.

I received a private note from a reader ~ she's in Denver.  If I knew, I would have flown into Denver and either driven or connected to Colorado Springs.  As it is, at 100 miles or so, I can't possibly fit a trip like that in.

Another reader pointed me at a couple of CS ladies who I may be able to meet with tomorrow.  I'm still sad that I missed Vanessa in Richmond.  The project is more messed up than I was led to believe and I had another long day on Wednesday.  My goal is to get out at 5 on Thursday, and be dressed and ready for... something... by 7.  I'm still stuck in eastern time, so 7 is 9 to me, but I have all this stuff that I packed and I hate packing things and not using them!

My next trip is probably going to be South Carolina, but I have NO idea where in the state yet.  If any readers are in the Palmetto State, please keep an eye and if we're close, maybe we can get together.

I wish I had an idea where each of my readers are so I could make sure you know when I'm travelling.  Even if all we can do is meet in drab, I'd like to meet.

Code Yellow

The temperature at both airports will be in the mid-90s on Sunday.

The company I work for wants me to spend two days on a different project, possibly pushing my midwest visit from Monday-thru-Friday to Wednesday-thru-Friday.

If that happens, I'll make Tuesday a travel day, and all will work since I'll be doing the hotel thing anyway.

To recap, originally I picked this trip because it starts when my family is away so I can dress at home and go. Because I don't want Meg to be seen getting into a cab with luggage (a giveaway), I decided to stop at a hotel and change there and then go to the airport. So even if this trip doesn't work, I can do this in the future! But it will work.

So if I go Tuesday, Meg can go to her friend Kim's clothing swap on Sunday. The nail place opens earlier on Tuesday so I can get an earlier flight and get my nails done as Meg.

Expected temperatures at both airports for Tuesday is a slightly more comfortable mid-80s.

It's all up to my local customer right now. I think I have the midwest customer under control.

A bit of an introduction....

I'm a male crossdresser, transvestite, transgender.... Pick a label. I check "M" when it asks for "sex" but I'm tempted to check "F" when it asks for "gender". Or at least put a question mark.

I dress as a woman occasionally (that means "every chance I get") but I have no plans to get any sort of surgery to become more female. Although if I could pick one, I'd probably get my vocal cords trimmed so my voice is more passable. Second choice is to get rid of body/facial hair.

But I'm not going to do either of those.

So here I am in powerpoint form:
* married, wife knows, doesn't approve
* 2 sons, they don't know
* I've been out dressed maybe a dozen times in the past six years. Sometimes, I have a makeup lady do my face and go shop with me. Other times, I dress, take a deep breath, and GO.
* I underdress daily ~ I only own panties, women's socks and undershirts (camis and tanks)
* I dress in "male-female" clothes (there needs to be a word for that). I buy women's shirts, shoes, pants that look male whenever I can. I only own women's jeans and shorts. My preferred shoes are women's New Balance, ny dress shoes are from Aerosoles, my beach-type sandals are women's.
* I wear a necklace (inside my shirt) and charm bracelet daily.
* I'm 56, 5'8", 155lbs, size 12 dress, size 8 skirt/pants, 38C (usually), 10.5W shoes, size 6-7 panties (depending on cut).

I'm far from female, but I think I pass (mostly) when I'm dressed. I may be prejudiced.

* I need to wear contacts; my glasses aren't very fem
* A lot of shaving is involved: arms, legs, chest, shoulders, neck, upper back, pits, hands, feet, and of course, face.
* But I don't shave my shoulders, back, pits, tummy, etc so I'm a bit limited on Tops I Can Wear ~ more to follow.
* there is no hair where I want hair so I need a wig. I try to get a haircut right before going out so none of my real hair shows through. I loathe wig caps.
* Without makeup I do NOT look female. I'm not sure what does it, but it does change my look! A LOT

Did I leave anything out? Just ask.

Today is day one of the blog. I'm in a Marriott with more girl clothes for the week than guy.
