Sunday Funnies ~ This 'N' That

Here are a few random items that made me laugh.

Tomorrow, I'll finish up Alexandria, and the next few days will be about another civilian game night.

I was planning on a Meg outing to the Fringe Festival, but high temperatures aborted that.  I remember from a previous visit that the venues were often hotter than the street.

Cleats ~ Sports-Oriented strip

Cornered - One panel weirdness

Ballard Street ~ I think the artist is on drugs

Dog Eat Doug ~ a baby and a dog

Rubes ~ Far Side-ish

Dilbert ~ Business/Tech humour

We Are Everywhere!

No not really.  I made a tiny edit to the caption.

Remember, Friday the 13th falls on a Saturday this month (see below).

Old Friends

I am trying to simplify. I have boxes I haven't opened since I moved here ~ I should probably not open them and just toss the contents. I mean, if I haven't seen them in 20 years, I'll probably never need the contents.

But then I'd miss little things like these cartoons.  They're not quite that old ~ maybe eight years but they were funny enough for me to print a copy.  They're probably on a diskette somewhere ~ they're that old.  The first is predictable but still funny.  The second, like most Ballard Street's, is just odd.  Click to enlarge.

Sharing Is Good For a Relationship

Isn't it?  Especially when two people enjoy the same thing.  I wonder if this is what goes on every Easter. :)

Disquieting? How?

I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want to see Trudie in one of those tea gowns.

I Kinda Like 'Em

This is from Dave Coverly's Speed Bump.  I'm linking to the daily strip because his website opens with flash and sound.  I rejoiced when the Washington Post picked up this strip.  I used to see it occasionally and withdrawal set in when I couldn't find it.

And as long as we're on high heels (if not in them)...

The second strip is Ballard Street, which I've also featured before.  It's just a series of odd panels, but sometimes, it's about us. :)

Everybody Has A Secret

Update: She must like it too!

I turned on the weather channel and Maria LaRosa is wearing the same dress I really liked when I saw her less than two weeks ago. I always thought these ladies had access to an infinite number of outfits, and I'd never see the same one twice.

I wish I had a photo.  It's 8am Eastern ~ flip on your tv before 10 or so and let me know what you think.

I'm guessing she saw her name on the blog and decided to give me a second look. ;)

Another Brief Pause

I'm writing up my Mardi Gras 2005 outing. This was one of my first, and my first among friends. There's a lot to cover, and I may break it into a few posts. In the meantime, please enjoy these from my comic collection. Click on a picture to enlarge it.

Ballard Street is always just plain weird. In yesterday's strip he was dressed like a chicken. I have a few others with crossdressing themes.

9 Chickweed Lane is one of my favourites. It's three generations of women, and the youngest (shown) and her mom are partial to sexy dresses and underthings. Brooke has been doing a story line flashing back to the grandmother's adventures as a young woman in Europe in World War II. It's been going on probably since the beginning of the year and it's great. Most of the male characters are a tad off-center. Amos never showed this side of him in any other strips I saw.

Adam is a bit subtle here. It took a second reading before I got it and then I laughed out loud. This is a new side of him as well. I really enjoy Adam and cannot believe the same guy pens the horrid Red and Rover strip.
