Working Hard or Hardly Working?

My last contract ended somewhat unexpectedly last Wednesday which means it's time to scramble to look for something new to keep me off the streets and out of trouble.

Alas, the blog shall suffer.  I'll be back before the weekend, I'm sure.

I've never been a contract worker, so I can only imagine the uncertainty that throws into life every time you need to "scramble" for another project. I'm wondering, do you minimize the Meg part of your everyday presentation when between contracts, as a way to improve marketability? As you rightly pointed out yesterday, Virginia is a tad backwards in the TG/TS/CD rights arena, resisting being dragged into the 21st Century with old fashioned fears and intolerance blocking the way. So I wonder the effect of the prejudices on job searches.

    Good luck with the search.

  2. Meg -

Good luck with the search. I've struggled to avoid being a contract worker, and I might need to take one to keep a roof over my head. Hopefully, you'll find something good, and something quick....

  3. Sorry to hear of the cancellation. Have been a "contractor" and I know of the problems. Best of luck for a speedy solution...

  4. Do what you need to do for you, Meg. We'll still be here when you get back.

And in the meantime, enjoy the extra time as Meg!

  6. Sorry it's at this point Meg. I hope you're able to find something soon. Maybe with a nice little pay bump as well. A girl can always hope.
