More than once, during the months after Penny's death, Charity had expressed an interest in getting out of the house they shared in Memphis before the anniversary of that event. She had no ties to Tennessee, and some options for a place to move.
She wasn't looking to move "back" so going to Alabama or Mississippi was not appealing. She had a friend in Chicago so that was an option. And she had a friend in northern Virginia.
Once I moved out, we discussed my disappointment in finding a roommate. Charity said she liked the DC area and would be OK with filling that role.
