What. A. Weekend.

My mother visited from New York for the last several days.  She is fairly healthy for a 250 year old, but she does not travel well.  She would not let us fold her up and put her in a "small" box from the post office to ship her back.

So my weekend has been drab, at least from the point of view of wardrobe.  It's also been busy, from the point of view of the blog.

I feel like today's post is "four years, I'm gone" but I should be back on Wednesday.  Yesterday, I took Amtrak up to New York with mom and today I'm taking a bus back.  I get to relax and read (at least during the portion my mother is not with me) and maybe plan my next Meg Day Out.

I did miss the DC "Pride" events this past weekend.  I've never been and I hope they stop soon, but only because everyone realises that there's no reason for them: everyone is accepted and treated well.

By the way, I've been playing around with Facebook.  I've been on it since 2009 and I thought maybe it's time to see what it can do.  You can find me here.

  1. Meg -

Gays and Lesbians may be treated well in cities like ours. However, there are still places in rural America where they will be persecuted - with no help coming from the pulpits of these rural churches who preach hell-fire and brimstone....

Sadly, until these pockets of hatred are eliminated, the Gay community may need these events to keep people aware of this vocal community in our midst.

  2. I will send you a friend request, but since I don't do FB except in drab, it will be from me in that way.
