I Think I'm Starting to Understand Shopping

It's FUN.  When I was growing up, I knew shopping at electronics stores and stationary stores was fun.  As Meg grew up, I learned that shopping for clothes, shoes, cosmetics, and jewelry was fun too.  And I learned the difference between buying and shopping.  It's pretty much the difference between catching and fishing.  Catching means Work Follows.  Fishing is fun and relaxing.  Sometimes, buying is Catching, and shopping is Fishing.

And since I'm on that fish analogy....

and sometimes, shoes are art ~ a thing of beauty

  1. Hi Meg!
Yes, I really find I enjoy shopping sooo much more when I go for girly things! The other doesn't interest me hardly at all now...

  2. Meg -

And shopping can be a wonderfully feminine bonding activity - especially when you go out with a GG. Twice in the past few months, I've had the pleasure to shop with GGs, and both (in separate occasions) were handing me clothes to try on in the fitting room.

One can tell a lot about the "class" (referring to social status level, not human quality) of a woman by the type of clothes she picks out for you. For example, the first of the two GGs I refer to took me to The Avenue for shopping. (I like that store for its sizes - as you've seen in person, I'm zaftig - to say the least.) But many of the selections she chose weren't that good looking on me. The second GG took me to a "Green Eileen" store - and the Eileen Fisher clothes I tried on looked georgeous! Too bad that I couldn't justify those prices for a second wardrobe....

So - whenever you can, find ways to go shopping with a GG - and more than one person when possible....
