Among the items requested is "gender." That's better than "sex," which as we all know, is wrong. Nothing too unusual there.
The choices were a bit unusual, but I think they are standard for certain government organisations:
MALE
FEMALE
MALE IMPERSONATOR
FEMALE IMPERSONATOR
MALE NAME, NO GENDER GIVEN
FEMALE NAME, NO GENDER GIVEN
UNKNOWN
FEMALE
MALE IMPERSONATOR
FEMALE IMPERSONATOR
MALE NAME, NO GENDER GIVEN
FEMALE NAME, NO GENDER GIVEN
UNKNOWN
All that's missing is "AMBIGUOUS NAME, NO GENDER GIVEN" Right, Pat? Right, Kim? Right, Chris?
It seems everywhere you go you are faced with people collecting information about you. The want your SS#, family members, income, time on your job, time in your home...etc. In the era of widespread identity theft I think that the less said the better.
ReplyDeleteI have, however, never encountered the classifications that were noted under ''gender". I would opt for 'ambiguous name, no gender given'.
