More Shoes, Glorious Shoes!

Today is 12-13-14.  Not only does Friday the 13th fall on a Saturday this month, it's the last sequential day of the 21st century.  Next up is 01-02-03, in 2103. I have something planned, Bob

More shoes and a (repeat) bonus at the end.  Between Friends, In The Bleachers (surprise!), Rubes, Speed bump, Real Life Adventures, Sherman's Lagoon, and a repeat from Howland and Churchy.

Churchy's full name is Churchill LaFemme but everyone calls him Churchy, which is how you'd pronounce the French Cherchez.  Cherchez La Femme literally means "look for the woman" and comes from a French novel.  The reference is to the fact that when there is a crime, or irrational or out-of-character behaviour and one needs to find a reason, "look for the woman."

I just think it's cute that his last name is "the woman."

Sunday Funnies ~ More Potpourri

A few more random cartoons to (hopefully) brighten up you Sunday morning.  Credit to Mike Peters (Mother Goose and Grimm), John Deering and John Newcombe (Zack Hill), Gary Delainey and Gerry Rasmussen (Betty), Steve Moore (In the Bleachers), Pirarro (Bizarro), and Brian Anderson (Dog eat Doug).  These are single cartoons that I had in the queue for each strip.

 Click to enjoy.

Speaking of Sports

A couple from In the Bleachers.

A little assortment today.  Click to enlarge Adam @ Home, Sherman's Lagoon, In the Bleachers, Cornered, and Sylvia

I love a little metahumour

Sunday Sports Funnies

The first three are from In The Bleachers by Steve Moore.  He does only sports cartoons, some better than others.

To round out sports day, I also grabbed a recent In The Duplex (Glenn McCoy), a Real Life Adventures (Wise and Aldrich) and Shoe.  They're all golf-ish.  I think golf is the most popular sport for jokes and cartoons.  I can't count the number of golf jokes I know!  There aren't actually that many; I just don't count well.

this made me cringe :)
