We Interrupt The Beach Story For This Important Bulletin
I am now legally divorced.
This is considered a "life event" for corporate (in)human resources. Of all the life events (marriage, birth, death, etc) this is the only one that's both a joyous and a sad event.

Dear Meg,
ReplyDeleteI should have wished you Shanah Tovah earlier this week but with the advent of the New Year and the official end of your marriage may you move forward from a new beginning. You will never erase or forget your past or what you have been through, none of us can, and you will always have family connections that will keep some lines of communication open but I wish you only the best at this time in your life.
Shalom,
Pat
Meg -
ReplyDeleteI don't know whether to be sad for you or to congratulate you on the divorce. When two people aren't right for each other, being together is often the worst thing for both of them.
I hope that the next chapter in your life is much happier than the past one....

I never know what quite to say on this news, and always get it wrong: sometimes it's congratulations, other times condolences are more important. So, whichever applies, may there be peace for you and your family now.
ReplyDeleteMeg, you absolutely have my sympathies over your divorce. Been there, done that x 2, got two t-shirts.
ReplyDeletePlease let me know if there's anything I can do to help. You know how to find me.
Much love, xoxoxo,
Christine
Congratulations and condolences :-|
ReplyDeleteOut of the ashes the Phoenix rises! I sure hope that is true for you Meg!
For me divorce was all good, but it took over 3 years from splitting up to get it final. I was very relieved. It had nothing directly to do with my transgender situation, although she was aware of my cross dressing and I was worried she would use it against me with respect to the kids.
I hope that as the dust settles for you that you end up in a better/happier mental and emotional place.

I have an associate who's still going through the legal proceedings. In his case he's been on a car purchasing spree since she's left. I picked up a Manx clone dune buggy for him with my truck and trailer, and he's since picked up a '74 Thing.
ReplyDeleteI know that we discussed this over dinner, I hope the passage of this milestone leads to closure for you.
